You speak the ancient word, and your foe screams as his eyes are clouded.
The dark energies of this spell damage the subject's eyes, potentially blinding them. The effects of this spell vary slightly depending on the strength of the victim:
20 HP or less: The creature is blinded.
20 HP or more: The creature's vision is severely weakened. The target is disoriented, and takes a -6 penalty on any checks that rely on sight; beyond 30 ft, they are almost totally blind.
If the target's vision is already weakened, a failed save blinds them (even if they have more than 20 HP).
