You can cast this spell as a reaction when an enemy strikes you in melee. You may immediately make a melee touch attack against your attacker; if the attack hits, the spell deals 3d8 points of electricity damage.

Alternately, this spell can be used on your turn as a touch spell, dealing its damage with a successful melee touch attack. 

Augmentation:For each extra spell point you invest, you can increase the damage by 1d8 (up to a maximum total of [caster level] d8).
